JEET KUNE DO

Leading Edge offers a modern approach to the martial arts with a complete curriculum, encompassing all of the elements of self-defense including striking, grappling, clinching, trapping and weapons. This program is based on the concept and philosophy of the late Bruce Lee.

Jeet Kune Do is often misrepresented as a martial art. Jeet Kune Do is a philosophy as much as it is a style of teaching. It tries to teach individuals about themselves.  By doing so it makes us better martial artists, teaching us to use what works for the individual.

In short, we are helping our students become well rounded as martial artists while concurrently teaching students to switch art styles and concepts when necessary. Students should be able to seamlessly flow between Muay Thai strikes, Kali weapon disarms, Wing Chun trapping, Silat takedowns, and Jujutsu submissions. By being exposed to a variety of martial arts and being pushed in various directions, students are less likely to become stagnant in their training.

Leading Edge can trace its martial arts lineage directly to Bruce Lee through Dan Inosanto, Bruce Lee's top disciple. Dan Inosanto is the only man to receive a third rank (instructor level) in Jeet Kune Do from Bruce Lee.
